In our first part we told you about your rights and responsibilities as a consumer. However despite being careful and vigilant you may end up purchasing bad goods and services or may fall trap of some fraud. Don’t worry or regret ! Consumer Protection Act prevents you in such situations.

However note : You will be considered a consumer only if you purchase goods or services for personal use and not for commercial or business purpose.

  1. Call up National Consumer Helpline at toll free number No1800-11-4000 Other users can dial- 011-23708391 (normal call charges applicable). SMS can also be sent to +918130009809 (charges apply) mentioning the name and city .
  2. You can choose to register the complaint here or any other online services available.
